Cupid at work is an arcade game for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch in which users have a chance to play the nasty god of love. piercing the lonely hearts with his arrows dripping with sweet poison. To make two characters fall in love with each other players will need patience, agility and a quick eye – an arrow must hit its aim at the same very moment when characters meet.

There are 20 different characters, each with its unique look and style: the goal is to match couples of the same type: two astronauts, two Indians, two aliens and so on.

People talk, send pictures, surf the Internet and now run programs and play games all on their mobile phones. Because of that, iPhone developers can still earn huge amounts of money if they hit on the right app, so iPhone application development doesn’t look to slow down anytime soon.

One Billion iPhone Apps Downloaded From the iTunes Store

There was a lot of specualtion at the beginning of 2009 as to what the billionth iPhone app download from the iTunes App Store would be. With the launch of the App Store in the summer of 2008, Apple and the rest of us really had no idea that we would be talking about a billion iPhone apps served even in the first half of 2009.

Surprise, world! Apple has announce that the one billionth iPhone app download happened on Thursday, April 23rd. The lucky app is called “Bump” and it is had only been listed in the iTunes App Store for about a month. Bump is a social networking application from Bump Technologies, and basically works by “Bumping” two iPhones together to exchange contact information. Bump is a free app download but the developers are planning a premium version soon that they will charge for.

The lucky customer who actually downloaded the one billionth iPhone app is a 13 year old kid who wins a pile of prizes from Apple including a $10,000 iTunes gift card, an iPod Touch, a MacBook Pro and a special Time Capsule.

The big buzz will be about the billionth iPhone app download, but the real news is that Apple was able to reach this benchmark so fast. This leads to some questions about coming so far so fast. One issue to consider is overpopulation of the App Store – how many apps can the App Store hold without getting clogged up? One rumored possibility has Apple dividing the App Store into more sections than just free and paid, adding a department for premium apps that cost over $10 or $20 for example.

Congratulations to both the developer and downloader of the App Store’s one billionth application. How long do you think it will take to reach two billion?

Amazon has outdone itself again. Just within days of launching the Kindle 2, Amazon also released its new Kindle iPhone app and sent iPhone users scrambling to download the free app and trying it out. The verdict? iPhone owners have been impressed enough that many of them have jumped on the Kindle bandwagon and have purchased one themselves.

How exactly does this Kindle iPhone app work? For starters, it’s like having an extension of your Kindle with you wherever you go. If you’re one of those who think that reading the Kindle even while waiting in lines or taking subway rides is a bit overdoing it, then the iPhone app is the answer to your reading dilemma. Take the iPhone with you anywhere and take advantage of short bursts of reading your Kindle books whenever you have some free time.

Applicable for both the iPhone and iPod touch, the Kindle for iPhone app has even taken the effort to make reading from the iPhone a pleasant experience. Given that the iPhone is a compact device, the readability is still great with 5 font sizes to choose from. Plus, going through pages is easily done with just a mere swipe of the screen right to left, or back. Another great thing about the Kindle iPhone app is that it gives the reader a full-color version of the images from its LCD screen, as opposed to the Kindle’s shades of gray. What it cannot do however, is permanently replace the Kindle as the choice reading device. While the iPhone acts as a perfect foil to the Kindle, the latter’s e-paper technology, wide screen, and superior readability is still the best device for hours of nonstop reading.

However exciting the new Kindle for iPhone may be, it still has a few downsides. First, buying books from Amazon or even just browsing available titles directly through the app is not yet possible. Moreover, the Kindle iPhone app is currently exclusive for ebooks and not for newspapers and magazines as yet. And one more thing, the dictionary feature is not available yet on the Kindle for iPhone app. These are minor drawbacks though, and with the way things are going with the Kindle, these features are surely not far off.

Long time columnists are quitting to publish their own content on the internet. This gloom and doom can also be applied to the magazine business. Is there any good news out there for the publishing world?

iPhone apps may help newspapers to rise again or at least maintain themselves while they reinvent and regroup. Newspaper iPhone apps can bring a leading edge technology to an industry many consider tired and old fashioned, maybe even comatose. How many iphone apps can the iphone hold?
I have a 16 GB iphone 3g, and have 19 apps. I have over 14 GB left, but I was wondering if i can fill all of it up with apps? I have read people have like 100 apps and it works weird because they have too many. But I do not have any music or videos. And only 3.2 MB worth of pictures. So how many more apps can I get?

That you only might be heard before about iphone sms hack or iphone hack A new interview with CEO AVG that believe smart phones will be a relevant target for malware and viruses within “18 months to 2 years”.

Really, it’s less about AV [and more to do with] protecting and stopping anything from getting on there, in real-time. [Malware creators] will use the Web to propagate on to these devices as much as they possibly can

It’s sound scared me cause my smartphone doesn’t have any antivirus were installed and i believe that iPhone OS is not like a Windows.

1. The numeric + punctuation keyboard is used because the numeric keyboard does not support decimals

2. There is a typo, that will be fixed in the next update

3. Many students have been emailing me, using this product successfully to do there home work.

4. Graphing is not yet implemented (removed till completed). The screen shot with the graphing button was an oversight (removed shortly)

5. Data points are editable, simply by selected/touching the row. The add (for adding), changes to “save” to save the update.

6. Storing the data points for linear regression, this will be addressed in the next release.

7. I’m open to suggestions for features and functions that would be heplfull to the student.
