Daily Tasks App
Application description
“Daily Tasks” lets you organize tasks by day giving you a clear picture of what you need to complete for a particular day.

MAIN FEATURES
- A day (date) view of your tasks.
- You can schedule tasks for a future date or go back to the past to see the tasks you completed by day.
- A monthly (calendar) view shows you open tasks for the month and lets you navigate by month
- Tasks can be emailed, searched in Google, opened in Maps and annotated with notes.
- Incomplete tasks are automatically carried forward to Today’s day view.
- The total number of open tasks is shown on the iPhone home screen on the Daily Tasks icon.
- A separate view shows all open tasks from past, present and future.
- Fun elements included are “Load Meter”, “Get a Life”, “ChargeMe” and “Shake to Choose”.
DAY (DATE) VIEW – ADD / EDIT / DELETE
- To add a task, flip to that date in the “Tasks” view and click on ‘+’ button. You can also use the monthly view to go to a specific date.
- A task can be edited by clicking on the pencil icon next to a task.
- To delete a task, swipe your finger across the task and the delete button will show up.
- To go to ‘Today’, just tap the date bar.
MONTHLY (CALENDAR) VIEW
The Monthly view can be opened by clicking on the ‘Calendar’ button in the top left corner of the “Tasks” view. This view can be used to see the incomplete tasks in a month or used to navigate to a particular date. To go to the current month, just tap the month name.
OPEN TASKS
The Open Tasks tab shows all your unfinished tasks from the future, present and past.
EMAIL / MAPS / INTERNET SEARCH
You can email a task to someone or search the task in the Maps application or Google. To do this, click on the ‘Pencil’ icon next to a task in the day view and then click on ‘Email’, ‘Maps’, or ‘Search’ button. Task notes are used to search and open in Maps. If no notes exist, the task text is used. When emailing, the task text becomes the subject and notes the email body. E.g. – you could use this to collect all your thoughts / notes for an email task and then finally email it.
SHAKE TO CHOOSE
Confused about what task to work on next? Switch to the “Tasks” or “Open Tasks” tab and shake your device to choose a random task. Don’t like the task that came up – shake again. Continue till you find a task you want to work on.
LOAD METER
The Load Meter automatically tracks the number of tasks you complete in a day and helps you plan your daily load. It computes a “Load Threshold” and warns when you start to exceed your threshold – i.e. it warns when you start adding too many tasks in a day than you can complete. To use the “Load Meter”, you don’t need to do anything other than use Daily Tasks diligently.
GET A LIFE and ChargeMe
“Get a Life” tracks your life strength. Your total “Life Strength” is computed from the “Load Threshold” and is not a fixed number. When your life strength starts reducing, give yourself a break – take a cup of coffee, do some exercise or anything that refreshes you. Then give yourself a “Charge” by clicking on the ChargeMe button and see your “Life Strength” go up. You get 3 charges in a day, so use them carefuly.
DAILY LOGS
The simple day view and calendar-like interface also allows Daily Tasks to be used like a “Daily Log” to keep track of all that you did for the day. During the course of the day or at the end of it, log the items you completed in the day. Then to see what you did for a day, just flip back to that day in the past. This is just an alternate way of using the application.
SIMPLE INTERFACE
Creating tasks should not be a chore and a task in itself. With that in view, “Daily Tasks” stays away from complexity of categorization and prioritization by keeping the interface
and options simple.
